Music. Love. Laughter.

I've had an amazing summer full of music, love and laughter. Not one to get obsessive about music and follow it closely, I generally listen to what friends listen to and thus have quite a varied collection of things I like. I really have to work hard going out of my way to discover new music and stick to liking it.

Braved a rainy day to go outside to Coeur de Pirate, only to find out Laval had sunshine and rainbows (with sprinkling).

Got to spend a month in beautiful Montreal, QC where I saw the Hungry Hearts, Oh No! Theodore, Rammstein, the Backstreet Boys with New Kids on the Block (I'm not ashamed of being a 90s kid!), Coeur de Pirate and Radio Radio at the Laval Festivale de L'Été le Mondial Choral, and bits and pieces of the les FrancoFolies.

Also went to the Evolve Festival in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. Definitely an intense experience.

Group hug for Fred Penner at Evolve.

When things settled, a friend of mine introduced me to CBC Radio 3, not just the channel but the Grooveshark-like website where you can "like" artists, make playlists, and listen to music.

Now that Evolve has got me good and hooked on music fests (especially ones where you can camp out and be surrounded by friendly people). I'm looking forward to attending festivals I never gave a second glance at such as Harvest Jazz & Blues in Fredericton, SappyFest in Sackville, Osheaga (Montreal), Feelsgood FollyFest (Village of Gagetown), and other such festivals as I happen upon them. Suggestions welcome.

Here's a sampling of my summer playlist:

What's your favourite music fest? What's your 2011 summer playlist?

*Been away from the blog for a long time contemplating what exactly motivates me to produce online content, what kind of content I want to produce, and if I want to do it at all. I've yet to come to a conclusion, so posts may be few and far between until I do.
